William J. Landstra

Mr. William "Bill" J. Landstra of Belding, Michigan, age 79, went home to his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 9, 2019. He was born to George and Wilma (Baker) Landstra on February 24, 1940, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. When Bill left school, for a brief time he joined the circus and lived with the elephants. Bill was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He established, owned, and operated the Grattan Auction House. Bill is survived by two sisters, Gretchen (Bob) Houtman and Karen Malone; good friend, Phyllis Slayton; friends, Floyd and Mary Patrick, Vic Weeks; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jill Landstra, both parents, and siblings Mary Sovereign and Al Landstra. There will be a time of memorial visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019, at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe Street NE, Rockford, MI 49341. The funeral service for Bill will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. following visitation. Pastor Paul Hulford will be officiating. Military Honors will be held following the funeral service. Those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy may make a memorial contribution to Helen Devos Children's Hospital Foundation.
