Jerry Geiger

, age 75, of Belding, passed away Tuesday morning, January 15, at home, under the care of Great Lakes Caring Hospice and his family and friends. Jerry was born on September 24, 1943, in Belding, Michigan, the son of John Frederick and Catherine (Bollock) Geiger, both of whom preceded him in death. He graduated from Belding High School with the Class of 1961 and served his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. Jerry attended DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago and Grand Rapids Junior College, completing an Associate Degree. He worked for many years at the General Motors plant in Grand Rapids, as a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker, retiring several years ago to enjoy doing more of what he loved so much, hunt and fish. Jerry enjoyed time with friends and was a member of the Belding American Legion Post.

Jerry had one son, Thomas Geiger, who preceded him in death. Jerry's survivors include, a sister, Barbara Jean Anstett of Manton and a brother; an aunt and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents and son, he was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will take place on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Verdun Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding. Graveside Services with Military Honors is being planned for spring at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lowell. Those wishing to express their sympathy are welcomed to consider a donation in Jerry's memory to the Belding Veteran's Memorial Wall.
